Getting Started In Voice Over

This is a six week voice acting course aimed at voice actors in their first year of voice over, either just starting out, or those who've been at this on and off and still don't really know where or how to get started, All sessions will be recorded in case you can't attend any, for you to review before your next session. Or you can look back on the previous session to take notes at your leisure etc. Each session will be 2 hours long, on the times and dates specified. By default, this is in the 24 hour clock and will be in your local timezone, and there is a toggle to view Sarah's time zone (London). Week 1 - What actually is voice over? Understanding genres, media, different styles, what's expected, etc. Week 2 - How to record auditions Going over DAWs, auditioning terminology, do's and don'ts, etc. Week 3 - Sound treating your recording space Various methods of how to build recording areas, from budget to pro, sound treating the full room, building a PVC pipe booth, DIY professional booth or buying a prebuilt, why you need to etc. Week 4 - Script and brief analysis Dipping our toes into practical voice acting, by discussing acting choices in scripts, with chances to act with direction Week 5 - Acting techniques to enhance your performances Big practical session, with lots of 1-1 direction and opportunities to learn new acting techniques Week 6 - How to improvise Crash course into improv as a voice actor, an invaluable tool in your belt, and how to practice improv regularly
